Begin with the product, then compare the material
Bagasse and paper appear in separate GoEco product categories. Bagasse is the fibre left after juice is extracted from sugarcane. That fibre can be prepared as pulp and moulded into tableware. The paper plates in the catalogue are a separate range; their product details should be checked on their own terms.
The useful buying question is which specific plate fits your food, presentation and purchasing needs. A broad material label is only the beginning of that comparison.
Looking for an 8-inch bagasse plate?
GoEco's current round bagasse plate range includes a 7-inch plate as a smaller alternative, with a listed diameter of 180 mm. If you need a larger serving surface, compare the 9-inch round plate, listed at 230 mm in diameter. Neither is an exact 8-inch match. Choose by the space your meal needs, and ask about sample availability if you want to check the fit before ordering.

Compare the formats actually offered
GoEco lists round bagasse plates in 7, 9 and 10 inch sizes, a 9 inch three-compartment plate, and a 9 × 6.5 inch oval plate. The paper plate range shown includes 7 and 9 inch options.
First decide whether you need an open surface, separate compartments or an oval shape. Then compare the dimensions and your intended food arrangement. Use each product's stated measurements rather than assuming that every plate with the same nominal inch size has identical dimensions.
Make the pack comparison fair
The listed paper plates come in 10-piece packs. Bagasse pack options depend on the model: some are available in 10-piece and 50-piece formats, while the 10 inch and oval plates are listed in 50-piece packs.
When comparing quotations, put the price on the same basis: the same number of pieces, with the treatment of VAT and delivery clearly stated. Then consider the pack format you need for storage and daily use. A pack price alone can obscure the cost per plate.
Keep material and qualification separate
A material description is not a certification. Request the composition and applicable product documents for the exact item you are considering, including information about any coatings or other components where relevant. Do not transfer a qualification from a different product or manufacturing site.
Food-contact information, compostability documentation and manufacturing quality systems answer different questions. GoEco's Quality & Confidence page explains these distinctions and how to request the documents relevant to your selection.
Bring the decision back to your meal
Share your menu, preferred shape, required quantity and intended use with the team. Ask about sample availability if you want to assess the arrangement in person. This gives you a practical comparison between identified products, supported by their own specifications and the quotation for your order.
Looking for paper or kraft food boxes?
GoEco’s 600 ml food box and burger box are moulded bagasse alternatives to consider when comparing takeaway packaging. They are not paper or kraft boxes. Compare your meal portion, the box format and material requirements before choosing an alternative. If paper or kraft construction is essential, tell the team before ordering.
